ADRC primarily serves dementia caregivers and care partners in Central Florida, with a focus on Orange and Seminole counties. We also help caregivers who live outside the area but are caring for someone who lives here. If you're not sure whether we can help, reach out. Yes. We help out-of-state caregivers whose loved ones live in our area. Call (407) 436-7750 or email info@adrccares.org, and our virtual support groups and Care Navigation let you take part from wherever you live.

No. ADRC's services are provided at no cost to people caring for a loved one living with dementia. Support from donors, community partners and other funding sources makes this possible.

We focus on Orange and Seminole counties and serve Central Florida more broadly. In-person support groups meet in Lake Mary, Ocoee, Maitland, Winter Park and Eustis. Our virtual support groups and online education are also available to caregivers outside Florida.

No. ADRC does not provide therapy or counseling. Care Navigation is an educational service that helps you better understand dementia, build coping and caregiving skills, problem-solve and prepare for decisions along the way.

No. We're the Alzheimer's & Dementia Resource Center (ADRC), a nonprofit providing support and resources for dementia caregivers. Florida's Aging and Disability Resource Centers use the same acronym, but they are a separate network serving older adults and people with disabilities.

ADRC and the Alzheimer's Association are separate organizations. The Alzheimer's Association works nationally in areas including research, advocacy, education and support. ADRC's primary focus is closer to home: supporting dementia caregivers in Central Florida with Care Navigation, support groups, education and connections to local resources.

The State of Florida Brain Bank Program gives people with and without dementia an opportunity to contribute to research through brain donation after death. These donations help researchers better understand dementia and move us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure. ADRC is the Central Florida enrollment point for the program, in partnership with Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami. Following donation, participants receive a report confirming the diagnosis. Respite care gives caregivers a temporary break from caregiving while someone else provides care and supervision. It might be for a few hours through adult day care or in-home care, or for a longer period when needed. ADRC doesn't provide respite care directly, but we can help connect you with local options.
