Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday: dementia caregivers need you

This Giving Tuesday, dementia caregivers in Central Florida need your support. Your gift helps people caring for someone living with Alzheimer's or another dementia. Every service the Alzheimer's & Dementia Resource Center (ADRC) offers is provided at no cost to caregivers and care partners in Orange and Seminole counties and beyond, and your generosity helps keep it that way.

No one should walk the dementia journey alone

At the Alzheimer's & Dementia Resource Center (ADRC), we meet caregivers every day who face dementia with courage and uncertainty. Some call us in crisis. Some are just confused and don't know where to start. Some lean on us for years.

Many caregivers feel lonely and unsure where to turn. Some are holding down a full-time job at the same time. Others are helping a parent from another state.

Caregivers have been turning to ADRC since 1984, when our first support group met in one family's living room. Read our history.

Your generosity helps make sure no one has to walk that journey alone. Through personal guidance, education and caring programs, ADRC is a place where families feel seen, heard and supported.

What does a Giving Tuesday gift look like in a caregiver's week?

Your gift isn't abstract. It shows up on the days caregivers find hardest.

  • The day the questions won't stop

A call to ADRC connects a caregiver with our team, who will listen and help, and a free Care Navigation session gives a caregiver practical tools for repeated questions, arguments and refusals, plus a plan to follow.

  • The night he keeps asking to go home

When a caregiver feels they can't do this anymore, a free virtual or evening support group lets them talk with people who understand, without finding a sitter.

  • The week the choices pile up

A call or email to ADRC gets them local options for adult day care, in-home care and elder law, from lists providers can't buy their way onto.

  • The moment a song reaches them

Arts and wellness programs like our free Music Box help care partners share a moment of connection.
